Landfill Rates for roll-off other than times the City allows free access are:
Pickup load $10.00
Dump Truck load $20.00
Trailer load $20.00
Truck and Trailer $40.00
Appliances each $7.50
These policies are subject to change as required and voted on by the Council. The Council shall establish rates and fees for service as necessary to operate and maintain Public Works.
Dumpster Prohibited Material and Disposal:
Dirt, sand, gravel, cement or manure; Masonry, masonry products, building materials, wood, shingles, lumber, floor coverings, carpet, pallets, metal, construction components, construction or remodeling debris; Machinery, equipment, appliances, furniture tires or other motor vehicle parts; Grass, shrub trimmings, trees, tree limbs, tree stumps, leaves or other yard waste; Hazardous or flammable material; Business or industrial waste; Other material of like size, density or mass, which because of its nature is likely to damage city owned equipment or injure city personnel.
The above described items may be taken by the home owner or renter of the premises to the roll-off bin at the City Landfill area.
Residents can schedule pickup of items that do not go into dumpsters, such as furniture or metal. Special pickup is available on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Cost for the service is $20 and up depending on the amount and type of items being collected. Residents may call 580-652-2002 to schedule a special trash pickup.
As a courtesy, the City of Hooker would like to remind residents of the ordinance regarding dismantled, non-operating, wrecked, or junked, or discarded vehicle or vehicle with an expired license tag to remain on such property. If you are in violation, please take care of your vehicle to avoid further action.
96.043 DISPOSITION OF WRECKED OR DISCARDED VEHICLES
(A) No person in charge or control of any property within the city, whether as owner, tenant, occupant, lessee or otherwise, shall allow any partially dismantled, non-operating, wrecked, or junked, or discarded vehicle or vehicle with an expired license tag to remain on such property.
( The owner, tenant, occupant, lessee or otherwise of any vehicle as provided in this section shall first be given notice in writing or notice posted on a vehicle to remove such dismantled, non-operating, wrecked, junked or discarded vehicle or unlicensed vehicle from the property. If such owner, tenant, occupant, lessee or otherwise, shall allow such vehicle to remain on said property longer than 72 hours after the expiration or written notice, the Chief of Police or other officer shall causes the vehicle to be impounded as provided.
